5 Ways to Help You GetCalmer This Season — Wellness Courses for Women in Oxfordshire

The school holidays are almost here. And if you're anything like most of the women I work with, you already know what's coming — the juggle, the noise, the endless giving, and somewhere at the bottom of the list, you.

Before the summer rush arrives, this is your window. A few precious weeks to do something just for you — something that fills you back up so you can show up for everyone else without running on empty.

At GetCalmer, based in Sonning Common, Oxfordshire, I've put together a season of offerings designed specifically for women who are ready to prioritise their wellbeing — whether you're completely new to holistic health or you've been on this journey for a while. Whether you're local to the Thames Valley or happy to travel a little, there's something here for you.

Here's what's coming up:

1. Reiki Level 2 — Mondays 11th & 18th May

If you've already completed your Reiki Level 1 training and felt that quiet shift in yourself, Level 2 is where things get really interesting. You'll deepen your practice, expand your healing toolkit, and start working with Reiki in a more intentional, powerful way. Small group, warm space, real transformation.

2. Reiki Level 1 for Beginners — 8th & 15th June

Never tried Reiki before? This is the perfect place to start. Over two gentle Sundays at our peaceful space in Sonning Common, you'll learn the foundations of this beautiful healing practice — what it is, how it works, and how to use it on yourself and others. No experience needed. Just an open mind and a willingness to slow down.

Reiki has been shown to support stress reduction, emotional balance, and a greater sense of calm — exactly what most of us are craving heading into the summer months.

3. Mini Summer Solstice Retreat — 20th June | 10am–12pm | £35

The summer solstice is one of my favourite days of the year — the longest day, a natural moment to pause, reflect and reset. This two-hour morning brings together yoga and Reiki in a nurturing, unhurried space in the heart of Oxfordshire.

At just £35 per person, it's one of the most accessible ways to experience what GetCalmer is all about. Whether you're a complete beginner or a regular, you'll leave feeling lighter, clearer and genuinely restored. Perfect timing — just before the school holidays begin.

4. Reiki Master Practitioner (Advanced Training) — 3rd & 10th July

For those who feel called to go further. This advanced two-day training is for women who want to fully embody their Reiki practice — whether for personal growth, professional development, or both. If you've been sitting with this one for a while, perhaps now is the time.

5. Goddess Yoga Retreat Spain — 17th–21st September | Soul Farm, Barcelona

And if you're dreaming of something bigger — five days in a stunning 18th century Catalan farmhouse in the Penèdes wine region of Barcelona. Morning yoga by the vineyard, 1-2-1 Reiki with me, a private chef, a saltwater pool, waterfall hikes and a small group of women who just get it.

There is currently one space remaining — a twin share room, perfect if you're coming solo or with a friend. I'm offering £150 off the full price to the first woman who books.

Rebecca Dobson

Rebecca founded GetCalmer in 2001, with a vision to pass on her knowledge and passion of holistic therapies to others and ultimately to help people "get calmer".

Having a sales background, Rebecca knew only too well the stressful effects that working in a pressurised environment can have on the body, and how little people take care of themselves.

With this in mind, Rebecca followed her passion and spent a year re-training in various holistic therapies, including massage and Reiki, gaining experience working privately, in spa’s and practicing onsite massage in the workplace.

Since completing her Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in 2006, Rebecca has been taught by many worldwide accredited yoga teachers over the years, including Claire Missingham, Kathryn Budig, Jason Crandell and the most influential Dr. Francoise Freedman, Director and Founder of Birthlight. All of which have shaped her in to the yoga teacher she is today. Rebecca would describe herself as a down to earth teacher and therapist who is personable, creative, patient and intuitive. She lightly weaves yoga philosophy and anatomy into her classes, making them well-rounded and accessible. In her opinion, yoga isn’t just about busting a pose, it’s so much more than that; yoga can help you understand yourself, others and the world we live in; all you need is an open mind.

Rebecca’s next mission is to spread the word to every Woman on the profound benefits of yoga to help improve and enhance Women’s health. Who knows at this point where it will lead her, but I bet you any money it’ll be something truly exciting!
