Yoga for International Women’s Day in Sonning Common | Restorative Yoga & Reiki

International Women’s Day is a beautiful reminder to pause, reflect and celebrate women – not through doing more, but by resting, and practising self-care.

On Saturday 7th March, I’m inviting women from Sonning Common, Henley-on-Thames, Reading and the surrounding Oxfordshire area to join me for a deeply nourishing morning of gentle yoga, restorative rest and Reiki healing.

This special Yoga for International Women’s Day session is designed to help you slow down, soften your nervous system and leave feeling calmer, lighter and more supported.

A Restorative Morning Just for You

Modern life asks so much of women – physically, emotionally and mentally. This event is an opportunity to step away from the busyness and give yourself permission to rest.

This two-hour session offers a gentle, welcoming space where you can:

  • Feel calmer and more grounded in your body

  • Release tension, stress and overwhelm

  • Restore your energy through deep rest

  • Enjoy a sense of connection and community with other women

No pressure. No expectations. Just time for you.

What to Expect from the Session

This International Women’s Day yoga class is suitable for all women, regardless of age or experience. Everything is offered gently and with choice.

During the morning you’ll experience:

  • Gentle yoga movement to ease stiffness and bring awareness back into the body

  • Restorative yoga, using supportive poses to encourage deep relaxation

  • Reiki healing, promoting balance and calm on a physical and emotional level

  • Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation) to help you rest deeply and reset your nervous system

This is not about flexibility or performance – it’s about feeling safe, supported and deeply rested.

  • Women of all ages

Rebecca Dobson

Rebecca founded GetCalmer in 2001, with a vision to pass on her knowledge and passion of holistic therapies to others and ultimately to help people "get calmer".

Having a sales background, Rebecca knew only too well the stressful effects that working in a pressurised environment can have on the body, and how little people take care of themselves.

With this in mind, Rebecca followed her passion and spent a year re-training in various holistic therapies, including massage and Reiki, gaining experience working privately, in spa’s and practicing onsite massage in the workplace.

Since completing her Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in 2006, Rebecca has been taught by many worldwide accredited yoga teachers over the years, including Claire Missingham, Kathryn Budig, Jason Crandell and the most influential Dr. Francoise Freedman, Director and Founder of Birthlight. All of which have shaped her in to the yoga teacher she is today. Rebecca would describe herself as a down to earth teacher and therapist who is personable, creative, patient and intuitive. She lightly weaves yoga philosophy and anatomy into her classes, making them well-rounded and accessible. In her opinion, yoga isn’t just about busting a pose, it’s so much more than that; yoga can help you understand yourself, others and the world we live in; all you need is an open mind.

Rebecca’s next mission is to spread the word to every Woman on the profound benefits of yoga to help improve and enhance Women’s health. Who knows at this point where it will lead her, but I bet you any money it’ll be something truly exciting!
